Micromax is an Indian mobile phone manufacturer well known for phones that has more features for less money . Two months ago i was looking for a cheap dual sim phone with qwerty keypad and IM features. Don't get me wrong, i was not looking to get the instant messaging features of a smartphone on a cheap feature phone, i just wanted to run some facebook chat app like nimbuzz or ebuddy.
After looking at a wide range of phone under the price of Rs.3000 i finally chose The micromax Q34 priced at Rs.2300
Lets look at the features of the phone :
About sound quality : The sound quality of this phone is average and the earphones that comes bundled with the phone is no good :| .
About the boasted "HOOK UP" feature : I really don't know what the f**k is it :/ , micromax trying to clone blackberry messenger here, according to my knowledge its something used for communication between other micromax users with hook up app in their phone . Seriously how many people around you will be using micromax phones with this so called hook up app?????? correct me if there is anything wrong in my words.
Conclusion :
The phone is good if you are just onto calling and texting ( good for texting as it has a qwerty keypad) , but for that you could get phones with qwerty keypad for much less cash , but there will be no touchscreen ( here the touchscreen is a resistive one, so it doesn't matter) . Also if you are planning to use it as a mp3 player then don't bother , the sound quality is no good.

Lets look at the features of the phone :
- QWERTY Keypad - Helps you type fast. But useful only for sending SMS as no instant messaging app will work on this phone.
- Touchscreen - The touchscreen is a 2.4 inch resistive touchscreen, but i don't see anything wrong with the touchscreen being a resistive one as it can be considered as a bonus feature ;) for this price range.
- FM Radio with Recording
- 0.3 MP Primary Camera (pretty much useless :P )
- Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) - I am having troubles in dual sim mode.
- Expandable Storage Capacity of 4 GB ( mmm.... could store some mp3s :D )
